How catch up TV works
Models B and C support catch up TV features when the receiver is paired with a special IP adapter so the receiver can access UK broadcaster catch up services. We propose a reliable UK pre-configured adaptor for best results.
Requirements & tips
- Stable broadband connection (recommended 10 Mbps or higher per stream).
- HDMI‑capable TV and a free HDMI input.
- For catch up services, a UK IP adaptor.

Service notes
The receivers must not be connected directly to your French home internet router without an adaptor. Freesat receivers may operate with or without the UK IP adaptor, but using one is strongly recommended. The adaptor unlocks a whole new level of entertainment, including catch‑up TV, on‑demand services, and the ability to restart a live programme from the beginning.
Frequently asked questions
Will this work with my French internet connection?
You are not required to connect the Freesat receiver to the internet; if left offline, it will function as a standard satellite receiver. However, using the UK internet adaptor is strongly recommended, as it keeps your system fully up to date with the latest software. Receivers B and C are hybrid satellite and internet TV units, and the adaptor simply connects between the Freesat receiver and your French internet router, allowing you to enjoy the best of both worlds. All modern broadband connections in France are compatible. For optimal performance, use a wired Ethernet connection or a strong 5 GHz Wi‑Fi signal.
Can you ship anywhere in France?
We ship throughout France and also offer in‑store collection in Paris. Every receiver is fully pre‑configured and tested on our network before dispatch.
